Lima - April 2007Dr. Bernardo Treistman leds a team of physicians from the Texas Heart Institute to participate in the Peruvian Society of Cardiology 2007 conference.
Dr. Treistman was joined by Dr. Andres Mesa, Dr. James Willerson, and Dr. Ross Reul.

Dr. Treistman took questions on Stent Thrombosis, Dr. Willerson participate in the Atherosclerosis, Inflammation and C-reactive protien session. Dr. Mesa comments on Stent thrombosis medications and Dr. Reul directed questions on the Hybrid surgical suite. Dr. Treistman was presented with an award for the tireless efforts to progress reasearch and education between Texas Heart Institute and the Society. DOCTORS FOR PERU CHARITY CHARITY GALA
PAMS Houston 2006

 The Peruvian American Medical Society (P.A.M.S.) is a non-profit organization of American and Peruvian doctors that work in the United States. It provides academic and scientific support to medical schools and hospitals in Peru and promotes medical assistance and preservation of health through its medical missions. Dr. Treistman was not only among the attendees during this charity event but is a long time committee member.

There they presented to the XX Annual Peruvian Cardiology Society Congress. The Delegation consisted of Dr. Scott Flamm, Dr. William Cohn, Warren Whitehead and Andrea Dacquino. November 2003Dr. Andres Mesa assisted Dr Neeraj Prasad with the first pacemaker implant done at the Cayman Island Hospital. The procedure was hailed as an achievement by Lewis Ebanks the managing director of the Health Services Authority. The 84 year old patient is said to be recouperating and doing fine. This accomplishment expands the Islands cardiology services and advances medical treatments to both residents and visitors to the Cayman Islands.   Dr. Bernardo Treistman presented on Intracoronary Physiology and Coronary Restenosis, while Dr. Andres Mesa lectured on Intracoronary ultrasound and carotid stenting.

Sirolimus-eluting Coronary Stent has Received Food and Drug Adminstration Approval.
